The Super-Scratch Foundation raises scholarship funds for students pursuing careers in turfgrass science and agronomy. Since its founding, Super-Scratch has donated more than $300,000 to turfgrass programs at universities across the country, supporting over 100 students in the 2024–25 academic year alone. Their work is endorsed by the USGA Green Section — the highest recognition in golf course agronomy.

Pin Placements designates $500 from every placement to the Super-Scratch Foundation. Not because it looks good on a website. Because the people who maintain golf courses deserve to have their profession invested in — and Super-Scratch does that work better than anyone.

The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America is the professional home of every superintendent, assistant superintendent, and agronomy professional we serve. Pin Placements encourages every placed professional to direct their $500 giving choice toward their local GCSA chapter or the GCSAA Foundation — investing directly back into the community they are part of.

The Placed Professional’s Choice

Every turf professional placed through Pin Placements gets to direct $500 to the golf or turf industry organization that matters most to them. Their local GCSA chapter. The GCSAA Foundation. The Super-Scratch Foundation. Or another qualifying golf and turf industry non-profit of their choosing.

It's a small thing that means something. The people who dedicate their careers to this game should have a voice in how we give back to it.

The Pin Placements Commitment

  • $1,000 Per Placement

    $500 goes to the Super-Scratch Foundation on every placement — fixed, no exceptions. $500 is directed by the placed professional to any GCSA chapter or qualifying golf and turf industry non-profit of their choice.

  • Annual Giving Report

    Each year we will publish a simple summary of how much was donated and to which organizations. We believe accountability matters — especially when giving is a stated value.

  • Growth

    As placement volume increases, so does the total contribution. We review the giving percentage annually with a commitment to increase it as the firm scales.

  • Your Choice

    The professional we place gets to direct $500 to the golf or turf industry organization of their choice — their local GCSA chapter, the GCSAA Foundation, the Super-Scratch Foundation, or another qualifying organization they care about.
